SURVIVOR BENEFITS:   Things you need to know

The loss of a loved one is a stressful time for all of us. To make things easier for the remaining spouse or children, the Veterans Administration has a Dependency and Indemnity Compensation Form retired personnel should fill out now. When the time comes for your spouse to make final arrangements, this form may help to secure added benefits for the surviving spouse and minor unmarried children after the death of the retiree.

To get your Dependency and Indemnity Compensation benefits, fill out the VA form 21-534   and get it to the Veterans Affairs office nearest you.
